Paulo Gonçalves is a Partner at BCG (The Boston Consulting Group) since 2011 and is currently responsible for Health in Iberia. He joined BCG in 2001 in the Lisbon office and from 2005 to 2010 he was in the Madrid office. Since 2011 he has been in Barcelona, being responsible for the local BCG office across Europe.
Its activity in the area of Health develops in different sectors, from the pharmaceutical company, to the patient associations, through the activity of health care and the distribution of drugs at the warehouse and pharmacy level. During the 18 years of experience in Health Consultancy, he has developed more than 230 projects for the sector, covering different themes with concrete experience in designing and supporting the implementation of innovative marketing and market access mechanisms for pharmaceutical products and services as well as in the evaluation and support to the decision of investment in different situations. In his experience there are also some projects in the area of specialized and general retail.
He holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon and holds an MBA from Catholic University of Portugal. Before BCG worked for 5 years in the Commercial area (Sales, Market Research and Marketing) in different companies of the pharmaceutical sector. He is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish and has a reasonable understanding of Catalan and French.
