Miguel Gouveia

Miguel Gouveia is Professor in the Catholic Lisbon School of Business and Economics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester after a degree in Economics from the Portuguese Catholic University. He teaches in the areas of Health Economics, Economic Analysis of Social Policies and Public Economy. He was a consultant to the World Bank and several public and private institutions in Portugal. He was a member of the Commission on the White Paper on Social Security, Chairman of the Evaluation Committee of Hospitals SA and coordinated the working group that made the assessment of the budgetary impact of the creation of Family Health Units. Has published research in the area of Health Economics with emphasis on the economic evaluation of health technologies.
